I was born in Asheville and grew up in Maggie Valley. My family is still there and they’re ok thank God. But lots of people aren’t. The people up there are very good people that help out their neighbors and even total strangers. We need to show them the same spirit and support that they show to others.

I'm glad they sent more troops. Weirdly, my boys in the Coast Guard they didn't get ready orders until after the storm. They always got called up with ready orders prior to a storm. It was FUBAR...we need to get better leaders in charge of our military.
