iOS 17 Beta 2 now features airdrop just by putting your iPhone's next to each other. Even in the beta this feature already feels like magic!

This is great for when the other iPhone doesn't appear on the AirDrop screen.

I remember Steve Jobs laughing about bumping phones to transfer contacts or files… over a decade later—here we are. Lol

Just like we used IR to transfer files in the early 2000s, just faster

Lowkey blackberry did almost the same thing years ago 😂

The thing is, Apple users will actually use this feature because it was shown and explained to them by Apple. This kind of died on android because it was just another checkbox to fill on the specs sheet that no one ever reads.

I love how they call the very old NFC “APPLE MAGIC” 😂

One question. Sry it’s 2 questions. Does this work with all models? For example, if it works between xs and the 15). 2nd question, should I have airdrop on to make this happen or just touch the two phones

The cute animation is a nice way to hide the connection/transfer lag😂

Apple didn’t invent this. It’s been around and in use for a while now

Does the other phone need to be running IOS 17 as well?

I love adding extra steps and animations to things. It’s basically exactly the same thing as airdrop, but we get an animation too. Apple! ladies and gentlemen

Android has been doing this for years. But this is good that apple is catching up

there was an app from over 10 years ago called Bump that had a similar concept where you chose the photo to send then just bump both phones together and it used Bluetooth to send it
