Toto was a collection of professional musicians. They were a band that EVERY other band wanted to collaborate with when they were making a record. That's how good they were. Criminally underrated.

That was Steve Lukather on lead guitar, quite honestly one of the best studio musician's of all time and Bobby Kimball on lead vocals. Toto is one of the most under appreciated and underrated bands ever!

Toto was a collection of some of the finest musicians and musical geniuses ever put together. Jeff Porcaro, Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve and Mike Porcaro, Bobby Kimball and Joseph Williams and Micheal McDonald thrown in there some ... all super skilled and highly highly respected. And Toto has several amazing songs, but Hold The Line is my personal favorite. 🤟

Guys, TOTO was one of the most versatile bands in history; they could and did play many different genres of material. Progressive rock (check out HYDRA), funky jazz r&b (check out GEORGY PORGY), soft rock (check out NINETY NINE), etc, etc. They were basically composed of the best professional musicians and they farmed out tons of other artists records. You haven’t scratched the surface yet.

…and I won’t stop asking you: get on YEAR OF THE CAT BY AL STEWART, it’s got all the instruments you both love (especially Amber) and it won’t get blocked.

As the members of Toto were/are studio musicians, you have heard some of them far more times than you realize. From the best-selling album of all time, “Thriller”, to Steely Dan and Boz Scaggs. If you really liked the grove of a song from 1975 through 85, there was a great chance the studio drummer was Jeff Porcaro. RIP. Collectively, the Toto musicians have played on over well over 5000 tracks.
