My highschool has two 3D printers and we are often asked to print things to help those who need it. My teacher was asked to print a hand with strings attached to it that would allow a handless child to grab things and such.

You know, you could change the speed and fill density based on the detail level and size of your print to massively optimize and reduce the print time. That spork would take 10 minutes or so with a standard .4mm at 50mm/s at 30% infill.

Our grandparents used to have  sewing machines, making us embarrassing clothes. In the future we'll make our grandchildren embarrassing objects with our 3D printers.

12 hours for a phone case?! Good lord printers have improved in the last 5 years! That’d take like 2-3 maybe even 1 hour now depending on your settings!
