SJ5000X ELITE VIDEO FILE COMPARISON MP4 VS MOV

Показать описание
I have had so many comment on how my Sj5000x Elite footage looks better than theirs, and I thought I would try this comparison as I always record in .mov file on the sjcam.
As you can see here there is not really any difference in the video quality at all between MP4 or MOV, but.... the only thing I can think of is how others are rendering/exporting their video footage, so it's always best to export in at least the same bite rate your sjcam recorded in to get the best possible footage to upload to YouTube.

btw, this was still with firmware 1.4.6 !

I'm in the business of video editing and transcoding video/audio, and you are 100% right.
Editing video for lower bit-rate will lower the quality of video.
Always edit the video in the same bit-rate as original video and then upload it to youtube.
There is no point of losing video quality only to have shorter upload time to youtube.

Great info here with a set of technical proof. I realised this a while back, I wasn't much worried about the audio but I found the frequency of corrupted video files has drastically reduced after switching to MOV. A bonus tip was the exporting bit rate, will try these next time. Thanks

My DSLR only records video in .mov, and I'd have to spend time to convert it to .mp4 before fb would accept it for posting. And I hate it. Canon says it chose to save videos in the .mov format because of its portability but I find exactly the oppos ite is true. Am so glad SJCAM gives me a choice.

what is the maximum time for video recording .. I'm using this but the maximum time only is 30 minutes using 1080p / 60fs, is it normal?

Wondering, if the camera sensor, hardware and software are actually powerful enough to record true 30 Mbps instead of some kind of "virtualization tricks" (interpolation, smoothing etc.). No wonder, considering that their 4K is also interpolated, if believing the article here:

so, I guess that's what they compress it down to. If you upload at, say, 12 Mbps and Youtube compresses it down to 10 then yeah, it might lead to noticeable quality loss.

But what if you upload MP4 file with format exactly as recommended in that article? Does Youtube still recompress it?
