This is the last fight but one. Good weather conditions and i was realy enjoying. Everytime i fly with this AS 350 Native air i caught myself that for secconds i'm looking more to the collors shining in the sun, than on the actual flight itself and what i'm doing. Seems that a sort of automatic pilot in me takes over and prevent me from crashing down, lol.
This time iI flew at different speeds and ended with a rather hard landing which was not realy planned.
I was at ease with the Starflex head and the beast-X. This was the flight #2 that day. I did another fight after this one wich ended bad. i was flying very slow and practising manoeuvers and slow circels near to the ground. After a fly-by and a stall flight i made a very nice approach. Descending and breaking at the same time and keeping her levell during doing this. I was very pleased with that. My best ever!! lol. Hoovered in front of me and than flew her to my left and made a right turn before the threes while gaining high altitude. once at about 30-40 meters high i suddenly had no right ruther!! A little left ruther was all i had. Tried to fly her nose in back to me but than i lost all power. I had to make a fast descending but i was still hanging above the cows-field. Luckely i practised 2 years ago some autorotation on the simu. That helped me in this real emmergency situation. I got her perfectly horizontal but landing was quite hard and i heard a noise that no scale helicopter owner like to hear. I ran to the bird and saw some smoke comming out. ESC was on fire!! This is the seccond time in less than a month. Ladingskid was broken on the left side and that made some dammage inside the fuselage. Not to bad. I can repair her but she won't be as pritty as she was before. Sitll don't know or understand why the esc got fire.
Real pitty to see my favorite bird damaged and more work for me to do next weeks.

Hi Filipe, an original Align motor 1220KV. speed control was a Castle 90A. I changed original 14T pinion for a 13T pinion. Trothle curve is at 75°/° during this flight.
After this flight the ESC burned and i had to land her on autorotation. I Broke the landinggear and have some repairing to do. I will fly with 14T again because i think that is the cause why the esc broke. I try to repair it this week and lett you know what i will use, regards

Hi Digo, thanks for the reply . I'm using the same motor with a pinion gear 12 teeth, I think the engine warms up a bit

Glad you got her down in one piece. You have now given me the inspiration to finish my Funkey AS350

For this project I will leave it standard colours. My next build I will do a custom paint job

why a 8s system? Standard T 600 esp is good enough, no? The Gazelle i'm building now will be a 600 size but with a 700 size scale rotorhead. I don't know if the extra power of a 700size motor with extra heavy batteries is worth the effort. The extra power is lost for some part because of heavy batteries.
I hope to have it finnished in a month. I'll post a video when it's ready. Painted or not painted, lol.

When i used the 14T the motor, ESC and batterie were realy hot after a 6 minutes flight. With the 13T they stay cool after a flight. I can keep my hands on the engine and ESC. But i think somehow the 13T does some bad to the ESC. It burned allready 2 times since i changed the pinion. Before i never had troubles alltough all parts were very hot!! A 12T is even smaller, so you have to run at a higher rpm for same power. Is your T600 installed in a fuselage?

Digoheliservice, Hello again! I've fixed up my Starflex head and got some heli-scale blades. The mechanics i have is Align Trex 600e PRO DFC. I've tried to lower the headspeed but unfortunately it was running very hot and the heli also seemed to 'drift' in the air. I had to increase the cyclic response as it seemed very heavy and had some lag. When making this bird what RPM do you run? are you also using stock gearing. I think i need to lower my gearing as it is currently 112 - 13T. With a 510kv motor and 12s 5000mah setup this makes a RPM of roughly 2300-2500 which is clearly too fast for scale. What do you recommend to get this down? Motor or gearing?

I wrote an email, but i cannot see an answer ;-(. Could you pls tell me, which blade type you are using. Are those blades also from sportsmoto uk? i just got my 700 Rex with Microbeast and the next Thing will be, to buy the 4 bladed head and also the Blades... thx in advance! (Chris from Germany)

Thanks again. I'm happy you won't use the same collors this AS 350. The original Funkey collors that you have are OK, but why don't you try to paint it yourself (or someone else if you don't dare to paint it yourself)?
I don't like to have what other people have that is why i paint my heli's. You can make a copie of a real heli that you like or give it your personal touch.
You can choose for a design of a real heli but give it other collors. So you are also unique. If help needed, call me.

I hope you are not using the same collors and livery, do you? As far as i know, i'm the only one on youtube (or in the that made a perfect copie of the real bird. Google this numbre: n350r.
She is repaired and flies again. This time with a Kontronic 90amp. No problems so far. Finers crossed.
I hope to see your AS 350 soon. Please lett me know, ok?
