Who won the air war during the Korean War? In this video, we explore the transformative role of air power during the conflict. From the battle for air supremacy over MiG Alley to the decisive use of close air support at the Battle of Pusan Perimeter, to the strategic bombing campaigns that shaped the conflict, we delve into the tactics and strategies that marked the dawn of the jet age and the last major conflict involving WW2-era aviation. This documentary examines the strengths and weaknesses of the F-86 Sabre, the F4U Corsair, the F-51 Mustang, the B-29 Superfortress, and Soviet-designed aircraft, including the MiG-15.

How did the North Korean and Chinese air forces deal with US Air Power? How did jet and propeller aircraft perform throughout the conflict? And how did the US Air Force and US Navy project their power over the Korean Peninsula?

The Soviets were having trouble developing a suitable jet engine for their new fighter, the MIG15. Metallurgy in the jet turbines was the problem. The British came to the rescue. They agreed to sell "Uncle Joe" Stalin six of their brand new, state of the art, Rolls Royce jet engines. Stalin was suspicious. He asked "what idiot would sell us their best technology"? The British would! The Soviets promptly tore down the British engines, reversed engineered them, manufactured their own, slapped them in their new fighter, and the allies were dismayed and amazed when the highly capable MIG15 showed up over Korea and initially, had a field day shooting down B-29's.

We need to strive to connect in a way where humanity becomes "as one man with one heart, " meaning that each of us feels everyone and wishes for the benefit of all.

The oldest son of Mao Zedong, Mao Anying, was possibly the only male child who had a legitimate chance to succeed his father in the highest levels of power of the Chinese communist party, wanted to join the PVA/PLA and fight in Korea.

Being Maos son and all the commanding Chinese generals placed Mao in a logistical base presumably away from the fighting. Now, why was he above ground, during the day, in or near a small shack by the cave base he was stationed at isn't entirely clear as 4 B-26 invaders conducted a bombing raid with napalm killing him in the process. Maos body was burned beyond recognition. He was only identified by a watch gifted to him by Stalin.

No question other than Chinese general command staff themselves, Mao was the HVT of the Korean war and the US Air Force smoked him, literally.

We did. The North Koreans borrowed Mig 15 jets from the Russians . So many of the Migs were lost that the Russians wondered if the Korean war was worth fighting, if it was gonna cost them all those aircraft. Stalin thought that South Korea would be needed by the communist empire if that World War 3 That Stalin thought would happen, started. When Stalin died the Russians who replaced him did not agree. They thought that if South Korea remined capitalist, so what? So they would not provide North Korea with what they needed to win this war.
