I bought a power hacksaw a while ago, and now I get it running, because I need it for another project. Keep an eye out for the Pipe Bender series.

With a little TLC, that saw will become your "Go to" machine. Kudos Greg! Glad to have you back for a while.

I was surprised at how fast it cut through that piece of metal. Looks like a very handy too - looking forward to seeing it being used on a project.

I have a 2 ton 1942 Peerless... What a beauty. $75 and everything works except the coolant pump is plugged up. You could use a garden hose for coolant, that's what I am doing temporarily.

I bought mine cheap because it was "broken" but after filling hydraulic fluid and changing the direction of the water coolant pump by crossing the round drive belt everything works fine. :)

Handy bit of kit - worth the time to get sorted Greg. I have been walking past an old Wikstead Power hacksaw for a few months which I dare say would be cheep - it looks to weigh best part of 500kg ... so its not going to fit in my boot ! If you get chance I would like to se the saw lift mechanism for the return stroke. All the best mate. Mat

Hi mate, Just bought a very very similar machine off a friend who'd lost interest in it. There are slight differences but the guard, blade action , motor tray, vice etc are identical.
Mine has several parts missing, cooling pump and the lever/mechanism that operates the blade lift on the backstroke which works off a large cam on the cross shaft. There are two model plates... Pro Cut and ProSaw Kettering, UK. Supplied by T. W. Ward Machinery Ltd. Albion Works Sheffield. If you still have the machine I wondered if I could trouble you for a picture of the area between the right hand pulley and the lift arm with the red knob. Everything there is missing and I don't know what I'm looking for.
Many thanks
Lloyd, Wales, UK.
