It might seem like a very basic question, but you would be surprised by how many people ask this question, and so I decided to make a video addressing it today.

Like Rachel Mars, commenter below, I grew up on Linda Goodman's Sun Signs. The last few years watching you tube videos has made me realize there is so much new knowledge out there, I feel like I have to update everything I know. I'm a Capricorn in the 6th, moon in Aries in the 10th, Cancer rising, Midheaven in Pisces. I feel my moon reflected my childhood - a hot-headed tomboy, and then I grew into my rising sign when I became a nurse and had children and now that I am retired, the Pisces, my spiritual development has become the most important thing in my life.

Thank you, really great lesson on how our natal chart "cosmic coding" is so much more complex than just our Sun sign..I was born 6 degrees Libra Ascendant, Sun In Sagittarius at 27 degrees, and the Moon in Scorpio at 3 degrees, but what really has influence in my natal "cosmic coding" it seems to me, is all the night time water I was born under in my chart being born at 1:03 AM, so I believe all the deep water in my chart is what is significant in my "plotline", as my natal chart has 6 planets in water, 1 in air, and 3 in fire, and 0 planets in earth. So I have 4 planets in fixed signs, 3 in cardinal, and 3 in mutable which has and has/had influence on my "plotline"... 4 masculine and 6 feminine placements.. and so those placements are what adds up to the working aspects of my "plotline" is what I am picking up you are saying and how those placement influences make. made and had influence on my use of free choice that then creates new circumstances, situations and new karma for good or bad all from the conditioning those placements create in my unfolding "plotline" as you mention, and that betters my understanding or enlightenment better in working both a internal and external personal growth levels ..not sure I am relating or making sense on this...but I send Cheers and the very best regards in all things sincerely, and gratitude for all you share.

I would like to point out that Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs was the Bible of my generation!!. It was groundbreaking and took those of us who were trying to figure stuff out in the early ‘60’s to a new place...something called astrology. It was groovy!
50 years later I’m still trying to figure stuff out and am looking forward to bringing some structure to what I have dabbled in for all these years.
My question is: I am on the cusp of Cancer and Leo. I hear everything from “that doesn’t matter, you are what you are” to “this is the cusp of oscillation because you are a blend of fire and Water”. What is the Hellenistic astrology position about such placements?

I’m a Leo sun with opposing Aquarius moon 12th house, Saturn in Pisces, in 1st house with Pisces rising. Sun and Mercury in 6th house which is Virgo energy, all placements opposite and very different from a Leo personality. I resonate more with open minded Aquarius energy and also that conservative sixth house and 1st house Saturn quiet energy over the usual flamboyant Leo.

I resonate really strongly with my Sun. I love being an Aquarius. I don’t share the same rising sign or Moon. I even have Moon in an odd place for an Aquarius.

But I resonate a lot with my sun sign. More and more actually as I get older.

I never knew anything except my Sun sign (Sag) until 2014/2015 (?) when I discovered that I am a Pisces Rising with an Aquarius moon. So much sense was made! I relate a lot to my 5th house cancer sun. The thing i keep noticing is that astrological predictions rarely come true for me, while those of my rising sign do. On a lower degree of spot-on-ness even those of my moon.

Personally I have found that I related a lot to my sun sign. I‘m a scorpio sun and later found out that I also have a scorpio rising AND that my gemini moon is in the 8th Whole Sign House.
I genuinely don‘t know if I would‘ve even gotten into Astrology otherwise, bc I was super skeptical, but I always questioned the deeper meaning of it, and why I related so much to my sun and others didn‘t.
This lead me down to a whole big road of discovery and I was amazed and perplexed at how deep and profound Astrology as a Tool was.

This is a super helpful video I am revisiting...I have never identified at all with my sun sign - born 6 weeks early (premie) with an Aries sun. My running joke used to be I used up all my Aries energy pre-birth (I was impulsive and impetuous and couldn't wait to be born, even though I wasn't fully developed). I've always, instead, identified more with my Aquarius moon (perhaps, in part, due to sect - born at night) and my Libra ascendant...I love the concept of the plot, environment/circumstances, and personality/self/soul/vitality, etc. being mapped onto the triumvirate or "triple threat", if you will, of sun, moon, and ascendant.
