I liked that the killer in this episode was a fan of Ludwig's puzzles.

I misread that as "complex number" and thought "what in the Numberwang is this?"

Quite enjoyed this show. Yeah it follows a lot of the modern murder of the week tv show tropes, but I found the overarching mystery and cast to be really fun and different enough to keep me engaged throughout. Hope it gets picked up for a second series.

I do love the sublte moments in this episode. Seeing the reverse chess section in the book filled out and the skip being shown in full early with no commentary pleased me.

Wonder if they’re going to get in Alan Davies to do a cameo as Jonathan Creek?

Mitchell was born to be a Sherlock type.

Very good show. A slow build up in the shows as the season went. Good watch

The murderer put the X here and then I put the O, and there you have a tic-tac-toe!

"criminally underappreciated form of puzzle" is a criminally underappreciated in this crime TV scene :)

This show is kind of like A Real Pain. The score is pretty much all LvB as opposed to Chopin.

i don't know this show bit how are they all so chill about a murder?

Cool. The Jury will totally buy this argument beyond the 'reasonable doubt' bar. I wonder if the killer did the evil voice and will it be accepted by a court?

The problem with these detective shows and I count Columbo, Monk etc. is the deductions are so ludicrously far fetched and reaching that it *requires* the murderer confess or incriminate themselves. If the murderer just stays quiet there isn't a court in the land that would convict them based on some conjectural piffle by the detective. So each show has to figure a way to make the detective annoying enough to force the confession. Even with a confession I suspect half the time the murderer would still get off.

Anyone else has a total 'Monk' vibe while watching this? (The American tv show with Tony Shaloub.)
I'm not claiming 'Ludwig' is a copy of 'Monk'; all I'm saying is that they're almost identical.
