David Hickopf [Hitzcopf] (1904 -1958 )

David Hitzkopf was born in 1904 in Warsaw (Kingdom of Poland; now Poland) into a family of hereditary cantors.

As a child, he sang in the choir of the Great (German) Warsaw Synagogue at 4 Tlomatskaya Street, whose cantor was Gershon Sirota.

From 1929 he lived in Argentina.

Since 1931, he has been a soloist in the choir of the synagogue of the Jewish community in Buenos Aires (Templo de la Congregacion Israelita). The choir director during this period was Yakov Sklyar, and the main cantor was I. Rabinkova. Since 1936 Hitskopf was the cantor of the same synagogue, the chief cantor of which was Israel Barsky.

From 1942 he lived in Rosario, Santa Fe province, where he was the cantor of the local synagogue.

He often appeared on the radio, recorded about 40 liturgical compositions and Jewish folk and popular songs.

David Hitzkopf died on December 12, 1958.

Exelente cantor liturgico, estoy viendo el video y estoy viendo a mi padre cpmpartiendo juntp a mi, pero lamentablemente mi padre ya no esta.

The timbre of his voice sounds much like that of Mordechai Hershmann but their styles are different.

He's actually singing Mordechai Hershman's version of this piece.. (Not sure who actually composed it)
