OK...well I have read the is my take on the unit. I have been a DJ way back in the vinyl record days working mobile, night club, roller rinks and a major radio station, I also studied Radio/TV broadcasting. I decided to purchase a DJ controller and I had looked at all types and brands...my criteria was small, USB powered, with reasonable size jog wheels with all the basic features including 2 sound cards (one for headphones/one for audio output) and a browse and load button and a well know brand (to insure compatibility with the computer) with some basic software. This party mixer met all the criteria. Ok now for the lights...I think Numark had the idea of a little bit of every feature for the beginner DJ and the lights are a cool idea. I have built a custom laptop stand and the controller is right in front of the laptop. When the lights are on it lights up from underneath the laptop. So the lights do not bother me and it gives a great effect. If I was to dream about a beginner DJ controller I would have created the Numark party mix for about one hundred bucks just like they did. I am very satisfied and highly recommend this unit. No controller is every perfect no matter how much money you spend !!!

Hey man do u need RCA cables for sound output or you can connect to computer and use the sound from ur computer?

I crindged after I bought this but when I used it the build quality and sound suprised me. It's almost like the design/flashing lights are there to troll you. I downloaded searto lite for free and set up a few crates prior to buying this controller using my latop touch pad to DJ. I suggest doing this before spending the money.... once your crates are set up just plug in the controller and your good to go! :)

if you get on Amazon you can buy these USB extension cables that are really nice and braided. I think I got a two pack for six or seven dollars US so 6 pounds prob.. the best part is you can hook the two extension cords together and get even more length

I know this is old and you probably can’t answer this question but if you can do you have to use virtual DJ with the numark DJ party mix or not?
