There are still three members of the 24th who were veterans of the defense of Roarke’s Drift who lay in unmarked graves in Wales. The locations are known, yet remain without markers. Surely the Royal Welsh could get their Engineers to crate fitting monuments for them, or a collection could be taken to purchase them from dealers of headstones. Its a shame that such a proud regiment could neglect its heroes in such a manner. I cant believe that it is even known to the Regiment’s leadership, or it surely would have been set right before now. At least I hope so.
