ABOUT DR. BREWER:
Dr. Brewer started as an Emergency Doctor. After seeing too many preventable heart attacks, he went to Johns Hopkins to learn Preventive Medicine. While there, he went on the run the post-graduate training program (residency) in Preventive Medicine. From there, he made a career of practicing and managing preventive medicine and primary care clinics. His later role in this area was Chief Medical Officer for Premise, which has close to 1,000 primary care/prevention clinics. He was also the Chief Medical Officer for MDLIVE, the second largest telemedicine company. More recently, he founded PrevMed, a heart attack & stroke prevention clinic.

At PrevMed, we focus on heart attack, stroke, and cognitive decline. We serve patients who have already experienced an event as well as those who have not developed a diagnosis or event. Dr. Brewer provides services via telemedicine or in-person if you're in the Lexington, KY area. We find a lot of undiagnosed prediabetes or insulin resistance. Treating unrecognized risk factors like prediabetes allows the reduction of risk and prevention of disease.

I had a 1200 calcium score ten years ago and every day for six months I thought this’ll be the day that die, but I kept not dying so gradually got a little less anxious about it.

74 yrs old, fervent exerciser, conscientious eater, weight-177 (never changes) and blood work "of a teenager" (according to cardiologist). Motivated by Peter Attia's book Outlive, I asked about getting a calcium scan, to which the cardiologist answered: "It couldn't hurt!"
It came back at 5000+. Dr prescribed stress test with dye....showed "normal blood flow". How should I regard all this?

It’s luck of the draw with the body really. I know a guy in his late 50s that ran all his life and still does a few marathons yearly. Recently he found he had no energy when running and had far less power. He had a check up and they found he had a 75% blockage in one of his coronary arteries. He had a stent and is now back to normal. I know people in their 80s overweight, drink and smoke and still going strong!

I am 76, don't eat many carbs and very little sugar. I walk 10, 000-13, 000 steps a day. I have a BMI of 25, but had a calcium score of 1380. Is there any point in taking a statin? Might my plaque already be stabilized?

3 questions rise immediately. A) do low carb diet alway stabilize soft plaque? B) do stuffs like k2 and natto ever destabilize hard stable plaque? C) why always assume obesity prob? Underweight ppl too have have high calcium score & reducing carbs drastically make the weight drop further specially in folks over 80. What do underweight older ppl do in that case?

I’m 46 and had a CTCA score of 7, eight years ago. I had another one a week ago and it was reported as 0. Clearly something is wrong, because I haven’t had a consistently healthy lifestyle since the first even if it was possible to reduce the calcified plaque. I was definitely expecting it to be higher. I’ve asked for it to be looked into.

I'm a little confused. If part of what you need to do is keep your plaque stable ( not Hot liquid). Then why use K2-M7 and D3 to remove the calcium and destabilize it? As I understand it. Or does the K2-M7 and D3 remove the entirety albeit slowly both calcium and plaque? I hope I made this question clear.
Love your videos.

Indeed, I have heard of that sudden spike before. Kind of a scarier form of the Atkins flu or a toxin detox? Stay on course. Detox specialists say we have to back out the same way we went in. From chronic back into acute. Temporarily.

Why would you want to reverse your calcium score if it's stabilized plaque? There would be no benefit from it. People don't die from calcified plaque, they die from ruptures in the arteries from soft plaque.

The reality is that calcium scores are not only an inaccurate representation of obstruction, but lead to unnecessary further testing on asymptomatic patients. Even with statin suppression of LDL to 70 or below, the likelihood of calcium scores worsening by 20% per year is overwhelming. And why would a man with a stent be getting a calcium score?

Ok, so does that mean a calcium score is useless? If I have a hi calcium score but I’m healthy otherwise (proper weight, exercise, eat a balanced diet) then I can ignore a high score?

Does calcium levels lowering in your blood mean your body's calcium is on the move? Mine has been dropping on low carb eating. I did have a CC score of 1931 early last year before starting the changes. I never intentionally supplement calcium. Or intentionally consumer super high calcium foods like milk.
