I once did this but in reverse. Here's how:
I was the Impostor(purple) and there were only 2 living crewmates(yellow and green) . I was waiting for my kill cooldown to end when one of them reported a body. I started the chat with "this impostor is really good" so yellow jokingly responded saying "thanks". Green thought that he was serious and started saying to vote yellow out. Yellow, on the other hand, thought that this was a desperate attempt from green to accuse him and win and began accusing green of being the Impostor and I spent the best ~2 minutes of my life watching these 2 screaming at each other and begging me to vote the other one. When voting time was almost over I voted green and got this win, then had some more fun watching the reactions of the entire lobby before we started game 2
