Nare-Me is also how my family have pronounced my aunt's name for decades. She has a Jewish background and that is how her parents pronounced it, possibly related to na'em (Hebrew for pleasant or lovely)

Here in UK the emphasis has always been on the first syllable. Americans have introduced emphasis on the second syllable, but by definition Merkins are rahng.

Since the name Naomi originates in Hebrew, in the Book of Ruth, the Hebrew version is closer to "Nomi".

I work with and am friends with and infatuated with someone named Naomi. I call her Nay. I have a cousin named Naomi who changed her name to Ann to be an actress. We couldn't remember so we ended up calling her Nay-Ann.
Naomi my friend has many videos on line, some with famous people. I just noticed they all call her Naiomi, accent on the Nai diphthong. I noticed then that almost everyone calls her Naiomi. I began to think I was misspelling it. Nope. And this was helpful. But I guess she doesn't care. I do.

We named our daughter Naomi, pronounced nigh-oh-me.
This pronunciation sounds lovely and has a sing-song'y nature.

It avoids the nAAAsaly sound of going with the hard A pronunciation, which sounds harsh and gross to me.
