Pleasant Surprise Of 2022! Torchlight Infinite Good? New Beta On The Way! Big Upgrades! Play On PC!

MMO players are likely still smarting from the dramatic shift Torchlight Frontiers took – from an actual MMORPG into a stripped-down Torchlight III that currently sees under 200 players on average and was considered a great disappointment following its launch. But PWE still owns the IP in spite of Echtra Games’ move to Zynga, and as it originally announced last year, it’s going to use it: on a mobile “hack-and-slash ARPG” title called Torchlight Infinite, developed by Chinese studio XD.com.

IGN’s got a new video that’s basically an animated backstory for the game and its heroes and contains little information about gameplay itself; the biggest info dump has been on TapTap. We do know it’ll have “open-ended hero building” with 24 talent trees and loads of skills, randomized dungeons, “unlimited” loot, and multiple heroes to pick from (four now with “many more to come”). It’s free-to-play, but it’s also apparently being run as live service game (“play-to-slay” and I swear I’m not making this up) with a cosmetic cash shop. As of last summer, the game was being touted as singleplayer, which if it stays true will mean we won’t be covering it again, but it’s worth a note here anyhow as it’s the next phase in what was at one point a major multiplayer IP and MMO.

Just because they added pc as a platform to a game originally designed for mobile doesn’t mean it’s going to be a pc quality game. Sadly I’m still not even remotely interested, and I love the Torchlight series. Mobile games are just such a turn off.

I played through the last beta round on mobile and actually thoroughly enjoyed it for laying in bed or on the couch the woman was watching her shows. The problem with mobile is i struggle to stay committed to play through a game. This one i actually made a point to get through the story and some of "echos/maps"

the download for pc its actually for a emulator download so its not for pc its emulated on pc :/

i dunno i was in that small group that didnt get into torchlight, took awhile coz i hate the art style, but eventually i tried it... and just didnt love it lol for me last epoch is the best arpg i have ever played. i played D2R and realized that LE is just better in every way lol

The artstyle still is too stylized for my taste and the tone seems to be way to "childish" for my taste as well, but the itemization / affixes on items looks really neat.
I might check it out just to see what items they came up with.

Play on Beta 2, but only for mobile... i was interested but now not anymore will see when its released on PC.
