Almost two years later and this is still a really great and relevant video. Appreciate the thorough and concise analysis.

Personally I absolutely recommend getting 2 AD200 and an AD-B2. Why?
- Because you get more versatility, when you don't need to battle with the sun (use the second one as rim light, fill, or light up stuffs in the background).
- And when you need huge power (middle of the day), you just merge them together on the AD-B2, and get roughly the same performance as the AD600 (only 1/3 stop lower).
I will be honest, these strobes are for travel and on location mostly. If you need studio strobe, you just buy a Godox SK300, which is an incredible studio strobe for 100$, it's 300 Ws, has modelling lamp, DC adapter, and can be remotely controlled.
100$ is nothing, when it comes to photography equipments, and just use the AD200 for on location stuffs.

I am not just pulling it out of my back side, it's the exact setup which I am using for my portraits, and it's literally killing any other options on the market. It's just that good.
(Btw, before anyone asks: for general portraits, you don't need more than 300Ws in the studio because you will always shoot under sync speed)

Excellent review Francisco. You provided more useful information in 10 minutes than the average reviewer would provide in 30 minutes. Other reviewers should learn from this and cut the unnecessary babble.

I have both. I have yet to use the Godox 200.

But I LOVE the Xplor 600. I've used this numerous times

I am loving the AD200. But here in Canada, the AD200 is $400 and the AD600 (TTL) is $1000. For double the price, the AD200 x 2 (with a twin head) seems like a better deal and more versatile. But for studio work, an AD600 plugged in to the wall is a better option. I also got a 860...and together, I am really loving the godox family of products.

Please do a side by side comparison of AD B2 setup (2*AD200) and XPLOR 600 for On location and little studio work. I am confused which one to keep as I have ordered both during black Friday sale.

I have been using the Godox version of the XPLOR 600 for over a year and boy is it a workhorse. Throw it on half power and you can shoot all day. Somedays I get almost 2k worth of shots before having to change the batteries The only drawback is having the battery in the element it can damage it so buy the AC adapter. The battery also loses capacity if you over charge, so shoot till the battery is almost drained it and unplug it after it charges all the way.

Worth to mention that the Flashpoint rebrands of the Godox lights are kits. A lot of the stuff you get with those lights needs to be purchased seperately if you go with a Godox version - like the nice bag you get with the Flashpoint AD600 but not the Godox AD600.

Have xplor 600 TTL for awhile now and saw a deal on the eVolv200. Thinking of getting one for those family trips/travel that I wished I brought my lights. I've learned a lot from your review and was very helpful in my decision of getting one.

I initially wanted the ad600 but honestly the ad200 is more than enough to fit my needs. Having the new accessory available now to combine the power of two ad200 sounds like a better option to me while out on location.

The answer is buy both. It's nice to have different level flashes for different tasks. And then there is having lights for a multiple light setup if necessary.

The only correct answer is to own both of them. Not just one each, but several copies of them each!

Everyone forgets about the streaklight 360 which is right in between these two. Nice power and relatively small package. All 3 are great and have their own use.

Thanks so much for the video! This has helped me make my decision. I'm thinking the eVOLV 200 along with the twin head AD-B2 will be the way to go for me. Keep up the great work on the channel....it's greatly appreciated!

Ok, I own some AD600 and AD200 units and I'm very happy with 'm. Two of both makes a perfect set for studio and outdoors. Btw... In Holland the AD600B is 1.066 dollar. The AD200 is 473 dollar. Still, much cheaper than f.i. Prophoto. Recommended, especially with the new Xpro transmitter.

Great review. Im leaning more towards the ad200 due to the price and portability. Would like to a see a distance/power comparison test coming from a portraiy photographer standpoint.
