Every mechanic could learn from your attention to detail. Your thoroughness is incredible. 🏁

I know it's about efficiency and emission control and all that but what I liked about old diesel engines was the durability and the fact they could run on just about any old fuel you put in them. Nowadays these things have to be so pampered to run properly it's just ridiculous.

Attention to detail, the humility to accept being wrong, and the responsibility to own a problem through its solution. These things are required for any technician.

Thanks for sharing, Dave. Excellent channel!

Another's great video! These new diesels are junk! Unreliable money pits! Unless your rich and have money to burn, avoid!

For non-US viewers: 30.000 psi is 2068 bars (≈207MPa). To put it into perspective: it is roughly twice the pressure of the bottom of the sea at Mariana trench.

In school our fuels teacher demonstrated how fine the mist wss out of an injector/nozzle. He held a piece of paper about 6-8in in front of a nozzle and actuared the tester. You could see some of the mist go through the paper. If you ignited the mist the fireball would ignite and burn out as fast as a camera flash. It looked really cool in a dark room.

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again ...this man is the most detailed, observant, and knowledgeable master builder I've ever seen or heard. When was the last time you ever saw someone check out injectors under a microscope to find out what's wrong??? Love the fact that I learn something new in almost every video he puts out.

Great video Dave. I used to calibrate and build Cummins injectors. Cleanliness is of high importance.

The CIS of automotive under the microscope Carnage that causes engine catastrophic failure that no one else is looking at.
Can't think of anyone else that operates in the manner in which he does with integrity and honesty 🙏💕.
What an honor to be part of his team hard to find that kind of honesty anywhere these days❤.
Thanks for all you do for the people that come to your automotive center feels like they'll become part of your family.
Thanks again 🙏 to you and yours.

Big Cube Gas Engine Munch less costly for most consumer needs. Any repairs on modern diesel wipe out all fiscal advantages.

The switch away from electronic unit injection in the pursuit of emissions and mileage has been a disaster for diesel engines. The fuel passages are much larger in EUI engines and so they're much less susceptible to fouling, and thus more reliable. In the semi truck world a Series 60 Detroit can easily run a million miles or two on the original injectors, that's one of two in-frame rebuilds with proper maintenance. I'm not a guy who's inherently opposed to government regulation, but I absolutely hate the way the EPA has screwed over vehicles
