Making a screen dim!
There are cca. 2 technologies of screens used in phones:
LCD and OLED

LCD uses backlight and crystals (which are controlled electronically and block the light of the backlight).
OLED uses tiny LEDs for pixels and they are usually controlled via PWM signal. PWM signal cannot actually dim the screen. It only deceives our brains to see the pulsing of the screen less bright. Even thought you put OLED screen brightness to 0, it is still pulsing at full brightness. The pulsing of OLED screens can be noticed if moving an OLED screen fast (e.g. waving) especially when they are dimmed. You don't see one line but more "screens".
With LCD backlight it is much easier to create voltage controlled backlight, but some LCD panels also use PWM (cheap ones). In my opinion the LCD implementation is much more advanced to OLED screens and can produce much more colors, which can be noticed when watching dark scenes in some movies (compression). You can notice some strange rectangles of colors instead of continuous color.

I just purchased the LG G4 - here in Finland, I was able to purchase it cheaper (from Germany) than I could purchase a One Plus Two, A Nexus 6 or a new Nexus 6P, the moto X style or any other "flagship" phone. I was basically able to get this phone along with a smartcover that enables QI charging and NFC along with an actual QI charger and a 64 gig SD card for just 15$ more than a One Plus Two.

The two features I would've loved to have seen are the finger print scanner & front facing speakers. I intend to keep this phone for a loong while.

You didn't mention what QSlide actually IS. For those curious, it basically gives you a miniature version of an OS app as an overlay over whatever you were doing. I have a G3 and I don't use it very often, but it is very handy for messages. Whenever I am using the phone and get a message, a window pops up in the top left corner of the screen, where I can read and reply to the message without switching screens.

For the camera software, the simple mode doesn't let you view your pictures like how you can click to view your pictures from manual and pro modes at the bottom right of the screen.

my friend works on the newest releasing tech for those cellphone sized sensors, and man it's some complicated shit once they got down to pixel sizes smaller than light wavelengths. it's a lot of engineering and quantum calculations to achieve good results (part of the package itself has to do its own image processing before it even gets to the software). I forget exactly what it was, but there was some kind of green filter they added to the pixel lens array (if that's what it's called? XD) that made low light colour reproduction really good compared to before, but yeah it's crazy shit :P

I have the g3 and have no reason to upgrade. The g4 is a great phone to have for a new buyer. G3 users still have one of the best phones on the market today

About the back covers, my phone came with both and i had no idea that in other parts of the world you had to buy them seperatly.

I dig my nexus 6 quite a bit but this phone has some pretty nice features. The biggest selling point to me would probably be the camera and its software. The N6 isnt bad but it seems very limited to this. I kind of want to play with this at some point...I guess that's what AT&T Next is for.
