I find it funny that they went through the effort to make the M60 hull look like a smaller Abrams hull.

How to modernize M60:

Step 1: Abrams.

At 10.0 USA gets an m60 with no mobility, no hull armor, and m829a1. At 10.0 USSR gets a t-80u (292) with the best dart in the game with crazy armour and survivability. Fair and balanced.

Basically USA wanted to tap into M60 modernization market (which was huge back in the day) by putting an Abrams turret on an M60. They offered it to Turkey but Turkey rejected it, choosing the Sabra instead which was the right option. USA was still producing the Abrams back then and they wanted every turret possible, so this M60 upgrade was kinda hopeless.

With the Fox armored car coming in 'Alpha Strike' in a few weeks, there's so many more British vehicles that Gaijin could add. Such as: The FV1620 Humber Hornet, a Humber Pig armored truck armed with the Malkara ATGM, the FV433 Abbot, the AS-90, and the Saladin armored car.

Its supposed to have a 1200hp engine but i believe they are going off the demo version that was demonstrated that did have the 750hp engine

The proposed production variant would have a 1200 HP engine. Though the one prototyped used the M60 type engine.

As someone whos favorite tank is the M60, i see this as a complete win. I wanted the M60 AMBT so bad, but i couldn't grind War Thunder that much when the event was going on. So im glad this is a tech tree vehicle, wven though it doesnt really make sense for it to be

It was offered to Turkey as an upgrade package to their M60s under the name M60-2000 and once that fell through, they offered to the overall market as the 120S.

oh, it's easy to know which m60 it is for every m60:

just follow the simple steps

1) m60 hull
2) turret (?)
3) it's an m60

there's new turrets for the m60s as new as... 2022 i think? maybe a bit older

we will probably just doing the old m60A3 with the hitfist turret over here in brazil when the Leo1 goes over to the refurbishment (gonna be a while), since some of the centauro II gonna be made here anyway.

The M60-2000 120S (2000 stood for year development started, 120 stood for caliber, and the S stood for SPEED and survivability.

It makes no sense that they are putting a upgraded M60 in game that was supposed to address the sluggish mobility problems yet it will have worse mobility then any m60 of the m60s in game.

They also took away its gen 2 thermals even though the m1a1 turret from the 2000s had gen 2 thermals. There is a bug report for it but you know how those go with nato vehicles.

IMO, they should just take away the m829a1 round and give it back it’s thermals and put the upgraded engine in it. This will at least make the vehicle comparable to what the finished product would look like.

Finally a nice cannon for 10.0, I didn't feel like researching the Bradleys and the mbt-70/xm803, so I was afraid of going from the M60A3 right to the M1A1 HC and getting my ass destroyed every game, I think 10.0 is fine but 10.3 won't be a problem, however the T64, T72 and Leo 2K are under 10.0, and the US tech tree doesn't have a reliable line up at this BR

The M60-2000 is a prototype version. The M60-2000 was renamed to M60-120S and is the same build as the M60-2000. The 2000 comes from the year the program started, the “S” in the 120S stands for survivability and speed, It’s the company slogan.
