The story of world famous Dutch graphic artist M.C Escher (1898-1972). Equal parts history, psychology, and psychedelia, Robin Lutz’s entertaining, eye-opening portrait gives us the man through his own words and images: diary musings, excerpts from lectures, correspondence and more are voiced by British actor Stephen Fry, while Escher’s woodcuts, lithographs, and other print works appear in both original and playfully altered form.

So often when people speak of great Dutch artists they forget Escher. They name Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Mondrian, etc. But not Escher. I think that is sad. He deserves more recognition as one of the great artists from The Netherlands. His style is truly brilliant and unique in the history of art.

I have the 2006 DVD _The Fantastic World of M. C. Escher, _ and just the _trailer_ for *MCE: Journey to Infinity* looks to be infinitely better that the aforesaid DVD.
