As a guy who has lived with women his whole life, when we don't understand why you're upset, this is what we see; You were fine when we left for work, and when we got home, you were upset.

THAT is the limit of the information we have.

We ask what's wrong and you either say "nothing" or "you know what you did" and neither answer is giving us any more information.

when we open the manual for the car engine, it will tell the information we seek. if we check the error code 182, it will say the exact problem. if we check the error code 'are your angry with me?' we get the less useful information of 'i am fine.' after we assume you are fine.

I recently restarted Dark Souls 1 and since I felt out of shape I gave myself a simple challenge, 1 push up for taking damage, 3 push ups for any death, 5 per death during Bosses, and completing a boss removes 1 deaths worth. I am either going to get in shape or get back to being good at a game I liked... also is helping me fight my bottled depression and is a way to be healthy... also Brazil be wild, damn using their convictions to stay up right in a fight like pokemon, hats off to you Brazil

As a man in his mid-30s, this isn't because we aren't open to new things, it's because almost everything produced by AAA media in the last decade has been declining rapidly. Go watch Total Recall 2070 or play Halo 1 and tell me that things produced now measure up. Hell, go watch Terminator 2 and Aliens (2) and tell me that any movie made in the last decade measures up to those, and they were made in the 80s and 90s. I was born in '87 and there has been very few movies since that measure up.

I buy and play a lot of indie games and watch a lot of creators on youtube, because they make better things than the companies that are worth millions and billions. The creator of Astartes made that by himself at home, while Games Workshop, a million dollar company, at best makes half-decent things like Boltgun? Bullshit. They are just creatively bankrupt. They stared too hard at the bottom line and played it safe, or what they thought was safe, instead of trying to make something worthwhile.

The question isn't if it is work, it's if you consider the work worth doing. (Source: I'm diagnosed autistic, and friendship is definitely worth the work. That work might be invisible to normal people but it's till there and it's worth it for good friends. The difference is that autistic people always notice the work, and regular people only notice and feel like it's work if it's a bad friendship.)

That's becuase those thing make sense and are quantifiable. You are upset because of your emotions, which are a result of random biochemistry combined with observable life events and is not predictable or often understandable. Why do you react in completely different ways to the same thing when it's an identical situation but framed differently? Women. *shakes head*
