The leaders of Russia and China have arrived in Kazakhstan for a regional security gathering.

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are in the Kazakh capital Astana for the two-day meeting at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

The annual event has been dominated by China and Russia, as they seek to shape regional developments since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Putin is also due to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the leaders of Azerbaijan, Mongolia and Pakistan before an informal dinner hosted by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

BBC wrote the name of the country with mistake as "Kazakhastan" when it has to be "Kazakhstan". So unprofessional for BBC. As a citizen of Kazakhstan, I'm offended. Also check your hashtags in description, full of mistakes. Pathetic.

The interview is very narrow minded and biased, what is the efficiency of the G-7?

This BBC so-called Central Asia expert guy has no idea of what he is talking about. The current economic world order is on the brink of a dramatic change in Central Asia but this so-called expert guy is unaware of it...

He said the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation doesn't really matter and it is one of the most inefficient organisation bla bla bla... Why do you even get him to talk about the event? Typical 'shitty' BBC news coverage...

"they don't do much but get people to talk"? Well, getting people to talk is the much we have ever needed in this world.

Why is it that journalists have to always ask American correspondents?? Dont The participating countries have their own correspondents, and why is that everything these two countries do is perceived as "against the United States?" Is it a perception or it's just that these countries dont have to engage without the United States?
