My request to everyone always prefer aiims over any medical college, except few medical colleges in delhi and jipmer.
I have done lots of research regarding to aiims. You don't know its importance unless you enter into it.
Only drawbacks is 50% pg seat. But in upcoming year, lots of pg seats will going to increase and may be reservation policy can also change similar to ug case 85:15% ratio.

Everything was correct for pg state 50% quota, it depends on states . For eg state like west bengal, maharashtra etc gives state quota on the basis of domicile . So you can get state quota if you are from these states .

Academics :- Don't know about Kolkata colleges, but in the aiims they are directly recruited by the AIIMS Delhi . That means whichever aiims you choose either 2012, 2019 or 2020 you will get same level of professor having an amazing past achievement like some were professor in USA, Some worked with WHO, having experience in AIIMS Delhi, Jipmer etc .

I gave neet this year and in counseling I preferred state as colleges in wb that are located in kolkata are the best kalyani is a bit odd location and the aiims is very new over there
