Talent is universal, but opportunity isn't, says TED Fellow Christopher Ategeka. In this charming, hopeful talk, Ategeka tells his story of being orphaned at a young age -- and how being adopted gave him the chance to experience a new culture, acquire an education and live up to his full potential. "We may not be able to solve the bigotry and the racism of this world today," Ategeka says, "But certainly we can raise children to create a positive, inclusive, connected world full of empathy, love and compassion."

The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). wonderful lines from human experience by love, empathy, and compassion. Really you suffered a lot and finally God changed your life by the adoption family.

Likeable person. Nice humor and not too much emotions or too much comedy.

People: I know people which worked with the red cross and more in several african countries for more than 30 yesrs - I'll travelled and lived in several african countries. Among the western african aid workers (or the afriva industrial complex of corruptin for african politicians and activist - and VERY big $ for the aid workers) there are some unspoken rules which are stated/adviced among the different communities of africa aids workers: do not adopt an african child or children - if they are not infants though. Even then - thinks twice. Why - mostly it do not go well at all - rather very bad or worse. Why is it so - what do you belive? As anyone else - I love this story about the exeption from the rule.

This is a beautiful and inspiring story but he's got it wrong about 'multiculturalism'. If there wasn't an American culture to come to he would not have had a place to come to. Nor the people to provide him the opportunity. Yes we should love others of different cultures but we should not sacrifice our own culture to others. Embrace American culture and the opportunities it provides.
