This is the Abarth 595 EsseEsse, a variant of the plucky pocket rockets that returns to mark 70 years of Abarth. Powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine, it enthusiastically produces 178bhp and 184lb ft torque. 0-62mph takes 6.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 140mph.

Listen to the shouty Akrapovic exhaust that gargles, pops, and bangs as you charge through this car's 5 speed manual transmission. A short wheelbase and Brembo brakes make for an entertaining combination.

While costly at £25,000 you can't help but love this baby hot hatchback.

I loved my Abarth. While my Fiesta ST is better in every way, except noise, I still miss the oversized trainer.

I’ve got one, mapped at 185bhp and 270lbft. Not the fasted and had faster but.... the Abarth has so much charm, charisma and fun! It’s something you look forwards to driving which for me is the point. People really enjoy it too, even those (it’s a girls car guys) once they’ve driven it they see the point, suited to people who don’t take life so serious.

Just make sure you swap out the P zero tyres they’re crap! The Michelin PS4 are far better
