I have schizophrenia and eat paleo diet. Since changing my diet i have got rid of 90 percent of my symptoms. I dont have delusions, no more ocd intrusive thoughts, no more loud hullicinations. Its just mumbles now. I also took supplements when i was really sick. My husband says i should try carnivore diet to get rid of the rest of my symptoms. I love this content. Thanks

I’m so glad you’re doing so good I have been followed your podcasts for a while, I a 23 years old daughter who has been diagnosed with so many disorders, the last one is schizoaffective disorder, so much medication has almost killed her, i don’t have support from clinicians around me, but have learned a lot from Palmer doctor and another guests you have had in your You Tube Chanel, God bless you.

Enjoyed Dr. Ede's book. This discussion helped a great deal because my schizoeffective wife chooses not to read, but she will watch these videos with me. It's a work in process to get her to try these changes in her diet, but I believe I have already seen significant improvements in her just by giving up processed foods, to include sugar, bread, oatmeal, pasta, and rice. Her blood sugar continues to be above 140, so I'm encouraging Fasting, but she's not there yet. She still believes she's possessed by a demon. Thanks again to you both for this discussion. I'm convinced if she can ever get into ketosis her life will be significantly improved.

Dr Edes patients are so lucky to have her. Having a clinician to help you troubleshoot when transitioning onto Keto would have made the whole process so much easier I think 🤔. Anyway I'm committed to a Ketogenic diet for the long-term. My body/brain is telling me to stick with it ❤xx

Very informative! I learned a lot about the effects of foods on insulin levels and how that impacts mental health.

Please consider interviewing Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride author of "Gut and Psychology Syndrome ". She is really one of the unsung pioneers of this work. I adore her.

I'm glad this is pretty close to what I'm trying now, focusing on fruit and nuts, some meat, etc. I'm trying to cut out fast food entirely, but it can be difficult

I don’t aim to go into or out of ketosis. I listen to what my body tells me and it tells me to eat meat and vegetables. When I eat meat and vegetables my mind is very sound.

My public library has a copy of the book and I requested it to read. I have mental illness and am neurodiverse, and would like to implement some of these techniques. Thank you so much for doing this interview!

Watching your videos lately about your diet has made me seriously question mine. I have PCOS which causes me a lot of hormonal anxiety and on and off insomnia. I know for a fact I feel worse when I eat too many carbs, either in one sitting or just too much in general over a duration of time. But, I have never really done anything about it, cuz well I love carbs. Lol. Trying to cut back now and I have more energy and feel way less anxious and I am sleeping better.

For the non-agricultural, traditional tribes that still exist only some of them eat a ketogenic diet. Not all pre-agricultural people eat the same things and the amount of carbohydrates in their diet varies from tribe to tribe.

I appreciate this interview - I checked out Georgia's book awhile ago and this was a great refresh with some great questions answered well. I wonder if people without diagnosed insulin resistance/slow glucose processing and/or no such symtpoms get helped with these diets like keto and why.
