The name does not implies nephritic syndrome at all: "glomerulonephritis" just means "inflammation of the glomeruli". All types of glomerulonephritis can manifest as one of 6 different "renal syndromes": nephrotic syndrome, nephritic syndrome, asymptomatic proteinuria, haematuria, hypertension, and acute or chronic renal failure.
