Ep. 134 ~ Sailing Greece - Mainland to Andros & Tinos in the Cyclades

Join us as we set sail from mainland Greece to the Cyclades! Our first stop is Andros, the northernmost island in this unique chain. We drop anchor in the welcoming harbor town of Batsi and spend a few days soaking up its local charm. Next, we sail down to Tinos, an island full of character, where the town impresses with its well-kept harbor, excellent restaurants, and the renowned Holy Church of the Virgin Mary Evangelistria, a landmark sitting proudly atop the hill.

To experience more of Tinos, we rent a car and set off to explore. The island is dotted with over 600 historic dove houses, and we visit Pyrgos, a captivating village where we enjoy a delightful lunch surrounded by whitewashed buildings with blue accents and brilliant flowers. Our adventure takes us to Volax, a surreal landscape filled with massive rock formations and poetic inscriptions on the walls. We finish with visits to the Catholic Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the ruins of Exomvourgo Castle, soaking in the island’s fascinating history and views.
