Yeah, he was pretty bad with temptation no doubt. He even enjoyed the attention he was getting from girls outside of Topanga at the beginning of the episode "The Last Temptation of Cory" before he had the run in with one of his classmates. His resistance towards her wasn't firm enough as he didn't even bother to leave her house after he found out he was tricked, and then he allowed her a moment of physical affection. Fortunately for him though, he was honest about his encounter to Topanga even though Shawn was egging him on to be shameless and not say a word about it. He could've avoided the situation altogether by not entertaining other girls, but good for him for not being cheap in the end.

He would've obliterated any kind of relationship with Topanga in the episode "Learning To Fly" if he had gone through with his near one night stand. Eric definitely saved his ass big time. I mean, not only would he have cheated in the worst way possible, but his actions also would've been based on false assumptions. He thought Topanga didn't want him but it was really the opposite, hence why she opted out of going on a trip with him, out of fear. She didn't trust herself with him.

One good time when Cory showed good restraint was when he was dating Harley Keiner's sister T.K. She wanted to have her way with him but he didn't want to take advantage of her while she was overcompensating. He wanted to get to know her unlike the other guys she was with, which she wasn't used too.
