The trick to getting back up is walking laterally across the Hill back-and-forth.

We used to go here when I was a kid. Went there as an end of Summer trip with Bible Camp and my best friend Larry drowned, we had a counselor almost drown trying to save him. My mom got a call from a church friend that night and had to tell me he passed away. I was 8 years old and the 1st time I can remember dealing with death. Luckily the church was involved and really hammered in about him going to heaven. But I'll never forget the Indiana sand dunes.

Dig into the sand, a hole chapped like a vertical colander, take rest, and continue, soften the sand with your hands, and kick your feet in, I have no experience other than climbing dunes on a desert, but I thing the hole thing might work better since humid sand is buried at a lesser depth

Dont fall IN a tree. The dunes are moving inland, consuming the forest. When the tree dies and rots away it leaves a hollow tube. Only go in marked places.

If I was down there when I will probably do is just walk around the island until I can find one other way up because who’s paying $3000

Has somebody thought of hammering a stair into the sand? Like literally just grabbing in the sand, repeat until a "stair" is formed? I always did that if the ground was soft enough and at the same time strong enough to hold me. Of course it depends on the sand.

Oh I have been there it was a few years ago camping they were so fun to go up and especially down 😂 I had a great view to it was great won’t forget it

I love running up and down those dunes, when i would go when i was a little younger i could never get tired from playing and i would run up and down those dunes all day

I must say when you look out at the water. The Earth looks flat. I'm not saying that it is, but just think about it! 😮
