Hey all, hope you enjoy this exploration of how The Carousel of Progress has evolved over the years. It was fun digging into some of the lesser known aspect of the attraction, and I laugh at myself now for wondering if there'd be enough to fill an entire video at first, as it's officially the first episode to run over 20 minutes! Also, remember that even if you're not having the best time of your life, there's always a great big beautiful tomorrow :)

Honestly I think Disney should put the Epcot backdrop back in the last scene.

If you're wondering what daughter was doing in act 3; that thing was called what you think it was: either a "vibrating belt" or a "reducing belt". Supposedly, to thin the waist or burn off calories/belly. Didn't work, disappeared from the market in the early 80's.

im actually shocked that the last scene is almost 30 years old. when i first saw that last scene, and the VR that looks like modern VR i assumed it was a recent addition.

Grandma must have had some money riding on that fight she was watching.

I love how tired The Wife sounds when she says "yes dear"

The only problem with this ride is that they only feel the need to majorly update the final decade. Theres too big of gap between the final decade and the 1940s.

Even after we lost Stephen Hillenburg today, Yesterworld has come out to remind us that there’s a great, big beautiful tomorrow.

Mark getting sidetracked to talk for a minute about Walt bicycling through the park during construction is so relatable to me haha

The Carousel of Progress was my favorite exhibit at the 64-65 NY World's Fair. I saw it many times while the Fair was running. This brought back some fond memories while telling the full story behind the exhibit. Very well done!

They need to change the last scene back to the 60s and say something like, “I can only imagine what the future holds, and what dreams and achievements we will accomplish. As Walt Disney said “times and conditions change so rapidly that we must keep our aim constantly focused on the future” We are in control of our future, we must dream and then take action and see to it that those dreams become a reality. Always look to the future”... etc.. that way the show doesn’t age and it stops trying to predict the future and has us, the audience, imagine it for ourselves.

Every visit to WDW must include the Carousel of Progress. Every time I find my spirits lifted, skipping out of the attraction, singing and wishing for Disney's original EPCOT concept to become reality...

Fun facts about the cast in the current vision:
Jean Shepherd (Father) was the narrator of "A Christmas Story" and Janet Waldo (Grandmother in the fourth act) voiced Judy Jetson and Penelope Pitstop for Hanna Barbera.

There's a lot of talk in this about canning and polishing the stove. I'm confused about whether you're supposed to polish the stove before or after you can it.

Love the long video! Also, thanks for sharing that clip of Disney riding his bike around the park... it may not have technically fit in with the topic per se, but it was great to see it all the same :)

The daughter was originally with her boyfriend inside the house in the 1920s scene. Mother says, “Jane! It’s after 9:30!” And the boyfriend turns the lamp off. This scene was in both the NY and CA versions.

When the show opened in FL in 1975, Jane was alone in her room with flag pendants. This was changed in the 90s to her being dressed as the Statue of Liberty
