Pentel Quicker Clicker - The Mechanical Pencil that got me started!

The original will always be the best. The only pencil I was genuinely sad about loosing, I looked for it for 2 days. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know that I'm not the only weirdo who gets passionate about their tools.

Nice hearing about your introduction into the mechanical pencil hobby again. Like you, I first found the Staedtler Integrity, the pencil that launched my addiction, in high school. Now that I am taking endless math classes (studying to become a math teacher) I love the opportunity it gives me to use my pencils. Off topic, but on the note of teaching, I always enjoy the little bits of teaching insight you put out on Twitter. I love your mindset about teaching.

I wish I could go back in time to the mid to late 1980s to buy a bunch of these. In the 80s I used that same blue one you show in the video now I will be paying big bucks because they are getting very rare.

Do you think pentel would ever do a limited edition and bring back the original quicker clicker? I've noticed companies like bic update certain pencil designs. The bic matic grip original colors are no longer made.

I had one of these as a kid, the original gripless one, got it from a friend, it was amazingly solid, loved it to death, but never had the .5mm leads to refill it on hand because most kids only had .7 at that time

i got these from my mom when i was in elementary.. i got super obsessed, literally the only pencil i would ever use. I'd lose the little eraser cap because it'd get loose and it def impacted my childhood LMFAO.. til I found out they sold them at Rite Aid

I have a Similar connection to this pencil as you. I actually just searched to see if anyone else found the same connection. I spent 9 dollars on it in 3rd grade because I thought it was cool. I remember my mom being disappointed that I spent so much money on a pencil when we had tons of regular pencils. I never had much money as a kid so I knew it would be months before I had that much money again. I loved it and I always had one ever since. I also grew up in a small Wisconsin town. I got it at an office supply store in a rundown strip mall in Muskego. Just checking because it would be cool if we got them from the place.

I found a quicker click on the floor the other day and found that it had a plastic clutch. Not sure when Pentel switched but I guess that's the end of this lineup.

I have weak hands, so I like the rubberized grips and the wider barrel. I would really like if my Side FX was higher quality, even though Its one of my main pencils. I reach for it all the time because the size is great for my silly fingers, and the hexagonal grip is great for me because my weak hands mean I have poor hand posture. But the Quicker Clicker in general is an all time favorite.
