So who owns Tencent ? I heard the biggest shareholder is a foreign company who bought 46 or so% in about 2000 or 01 when it was losing money. Now I believe they own about 32% of Tencent. I know and they are not from where many think teck typically originates. Clue, it's the same place that produced the person responsible for private driven space travel.

Anyways, I think that all 4 of them (BATX) should jointly develop the AliOS. AliOS could have integrated Baidu search, aliexpress, wechat, etc., all integrated into the OS. The AliOS could be pre-installed on every Chinese smartphone (Xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo, etc.).

When google and youtube were allowed in China, the mkt share of Baidu is already bigger than them. Also, both Ebay and Amazon are always allowed in China but they cannot stop the rise of Ali. Same case to MSN vs. Tencent, Apple vs. Xiaomi. All of these western companies don't know the Chinese local mkt, so pls don't attribute to the close internet.
