Cool idea, I may try it using various buffalo plaid squares and interspersing it with some of my Much loved woodgrain fabric.

I made a Buffalo Plaid quilt top, and I too assembled it in columns because one of my prints was directional. I was SO happy with the outcome (because I love all three of fabrics I used). It’s a simple design but looks fabulous!
