Steve Sarina Memorial Tribute

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012, the Sounders community lost a very special person and a very loyal supporter. Steve Sarina, a former airman (US Air Force), lost his almost two-year long battle with melanoma while en route to the stadium. Steve's passion was always evident on match day and he will be remembered for flashing two metal signs when Sounders FC clinched the Cascadia Cup in Vancouver, BC.

He told Sounders center-half Jeff Park "that the 90 minutes that he could watch us play was the best part of his times." In January he got to spend his 34th birthday with Sounders FC legend Kasey Keller, Mike Seamon and former Sounder Lamar Neagle. Many of us helped him celebrate after our annual excursion to Snoqualmie Pass and ECS Snow Day.

Oh, and one last thing. Steve would like to remind us all to have our moles checked/looked at. One doctor visit can save your life! So next time you go in for a physical or because of your cough bring it up!

Amazing! Thanks so much. My daughter Haleigh will be honored to be apart of this. Her and Steve had a very special bond.
