Waldo Dancing Classrooms LI Gala Honoring Waldo Cabrera

Hi, It's Waldo.

Those of you who know me, understand how important that arts are to me and how, in my reporting with MyLITV, I try to feature our kids in their best light.

On April 18th I'm being honored by Dancing Classrooms Long Island for my dedication to covering the arts in our communities.

If you don't know Dancing Classrooms, maybe you the Antonio Banderas movie TAKE THE LEAD. It chronicles the start of this innovative program.

Or maybe you're more familiar with MAD HOT BALLROOM, the award winning documentary about this innovative program.

Through ballroom dancing, students gain confidence, the learn to respect each other and... they learn something very important in today's climate... appropriate methods of physical contact.

I'm sure that if Harvey Weinstein had been in this program while in middle school, he wouldn't be in such a jam.

All kidding aside, please come to the Gala on April 18th at the Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury and help Dancing Classrooms Long Island continue to help our girls and boys grow into ladies and gentlemen.
