I like how in season 1 when it was Ganesh puja, Devi was talking abt when she goes to college she’s probably going to be an atheist and will never come back to being Indian or Hindu but than 2 years later when she’s going to college, she realizes how beautiful her culture is and how she’s finally embracing it ❤

I love that they added it, yes it's a portrayal of their culture, but it was the last or one of the last scenes of nhie. It was nice when everyone got in and danced together, it was like an Unofficial celebration of the end. I'll really miss this show as I've grown side by side devi

Many Indian songs have female lead. Even the non item songs have the male and female dancing together. The girl isn't side lined
Baji rao mastani, ram Leela, kalank, padmavat and many movies with Deepika Padukone Katrina kaif Anushka Sharma have female led dances which are not even item songs
Even black and white movies had female lead dancers like vaijayanti mala, padminin and waheeda Rehman also who can forget madhu bala in pyaar Kiya to Darna kya

Most of Indian songs have female leads, there's literally a whole genre almost of titles songs from films called "item" songs, featuring at item girl dancing, and sometimes she's not even the main actress in the film, just there to lead the song.
