Could I Play Bass With Teddy Swims? | Lose Control

Показать описание
This is take one of one. I had heard this song before, but never played it. I took a few minutes to find a nice sub bass sound on the pedalboard, figured out the chords quickly (there are only 4 and they don't change), and then hit record without actually listening to the full arrangement of the song.
Towards the end of the tune, after the guitar solo, there's a breakdown which was unrehearsed for me, but felt like the right place to drop out so I did luckily. It's things like this that are the challenge when doing these songs as though I had been in the studio on the original date.
It's not about learning the bass line from the record and then just copying it, it's about seeing if I can learn the song super fast, and then let my fingers go where they go in order to create an original part.
It’s my way of staying in “peak playing fitness” when I’m not crazy busy with work.
I used the Mantic "Hulk" for the sub bass, and the JHS Colorbox for the clean sound. The DI actually came out of the Ampeg Venture V3 as that's what I was using to monitor in the room, and I added a hair of compression in the mix before I bounced it down.
