I seen a video of a cop beating a woman into the grass while in a full mount right off a highway. Then I hear about this I love all people regardless of race. If a child is killed I'm outraged. If a cop beats a person who didn't deserve, I'm more than furious.

Kind of seems like you're reading too much into this story. I would understand if the police in that county would typically characterize black people as being more dangerous, or had a bad record with dealing with black individuals in the past. But each jurisdiction has its bad cops and you can not just simply write off certain police behavior as all police behavior, for every county.

David's larger thesis is undeniable in our society.  White privilege (which can be extended to White rich Christian privilege) is an enormous factor in determining the makeup of so many aspects of American political, cultural and social life.

But here, it is impossible to determine which thing got this woman such disproportionately lax treatment;  her race, her looks, her being a celebrated athlete, her class, her make of car, her gender, or just the fact that maybe this police unit happened to be incompetent.

I live in an area where there is more First Nation people then Black folks, so I can only imagine the reality for Black people in the United States, but what I know for sure is that this happens time and time again for First Nation people in Canada.  A recent article in our local paper highlighted homeless youth and the caption for the article read something like "Youth in Black Hoodies..." with no mention of race... the comments were not surprising, when people automatically made reference to First Nation youth... thank you Pakman for sharpening the point once again!
