SWTOR's new Shae Vizla APAC 'Fresh Start' Server!

Star Wars: The Old Republic has added a new server to play on to the game! It is called the “Shae Vizla” server and will be considered an APAC (Asia-Pacific) server. Unlike the other servers, it currently does not allow transfers, so all players will be starting at level 1 with no legacy or credits.

I am from Australia and this is the first time I have seen the connection bar near the mini map be more than 2 pips. Also this fresh start is such a cool way to experience the wonder of swtor again. Moreover, to achieve this, a friend and I are going from level 1 on new characters doing as much content as possible together. We have even started tradition where we duel when we are both at the same level to see who is stronger.

As a Singapore-based player, I got 99ms connecting to "Shae Vizla” server as compared to 300+ms connecting to "Star Forge" Server. This is a great improvement. Just hope they allow transfers once the server player base matures.

I remember you posted a video announcing the cloud servers coming for everyone but no mention of an APAC server, and I said "Disappointed, I would love if the APAC server was coming, I'll hold off coming back until that happens". Well, it came, and I'm honestly having such an amazing time playing it with such low ping with other Aussies. Thank you for covering this and spreading the word, I hope we can maintain a decent population, I'm having such a blast.

As an Australian I think this is great! Have started playing again and I'm enjoying the experience. Hope they keep it as 'fresh start' and never allow transfers, so good that the server economy isn't broken.

Based on your depiction in the video, makes it seem like the new APAC server SV is providing the same kind of call back starter feel as the 2019 release of Classic WOW from Blizzard. I may have to create a character on SV and give it a whirl. Here's hoping the ping is manageable as you noted. As always thanks for the content video and your hard work on your site.

I'm so enjoying the new server thus far! The server lag has improved so much, I'm in New Zealand and I'm not going above like 50, which considering my NA playthroughs over the years, is night and day! Thanks for the overview Swtorista! Not to mention, the GTM prices are extremely cheap because the server hasn't been oversaturated as of yet! Haha

As a long time MMO player from Aus, this made me so happy that I returned and instantly sub. Perhaps other developers and/or publishers can learn from this, I'm more than happy to spend $$ on games that care about the minority group.

I hadn't played in a long time but came back for this. the thing I am missing the most are legacy perks like having stuff on ship and other things. My ping is usually under 10 being about 90 mins north of Sydney. I am a founder and I remember years ago when we got our own server but as player numbers dwindled they removed it. Having fun so far but tying to work out prices on GTN is hard but we will see how the market works out.

alot of APAC players left the game when our servers were removed, having one of them back, hopefully would see alot of players come back to the game

Been playing since game launch, having an APAC server again is a relief. Transitioned to a solo player recently and As much as I’d like to transfer my toons, I agree with the rest who doesn’t want transfers to occur for better GTN economy. My only request is if not legacy, maybr the reputation legacy can become an account wide unlock. That legend rep Rhunuk armor unlock took a month and a half to grind 😂

I was so excited to find out there is an apac swtor server and free transfers. Finally lag free gameplay!! Downloaded the game and got ready to transfer chars only to find out that the free transfers are only offered to current subscribers, not even new subscribers. Well
