You should get a watch demagnetizer, which is basically a coil of wire that is hooked up to an AC voltage source with a momentary push button switch. the alternating current switches the magnetic poles 50 or 60 times a second and demagnetizes the metal when drawn away from it slowly. old time watchmakers sometimes used a rotating horseshoe magnet hanging from a wound up string to do the same.
According to W.J. Gazeley, in his classic book "Watch and Clock Making and Repairing", he claims that the diamond shaped face of your graver should be facing up. He claimed that if you turn with it down, your turning could end up out of round. Although I have seen other texts say it doesn't matter. I have also read in another book that a watchmaker should practice lathe work around four hours a day to be any good at it.

I have no more argument if I fail again my balance staff, very well explained, I will keep this video as a reference . I am waiting my suplier of blue steel (stub metal) to open again after the virus confinement, thank you very much. I'm reforming a curly hairspring which is completly twisted, which is an other game of skill.

Were you cleaning your tweezers in pith wood? Also, you were using O.D. Calipers and not recalling the name, I use both O.D. and I.D. calipers for rough layout. Thanks again for sharing your time and thoughts.
