This song was written about a beautiful Rarotongan girl named Anelina. Tupu McGrath (a member of the Tiama'a band) was dating Anelina from Samoa College while he was attending Avele College at the time. A lot of people who witnessed their relationship thought they were going to be together for a lifetime, unfortunately she had to return back to her homeland. Therefore, the emotional pain of heartbreak and missing her resulted in him writing this love song.
