Always fed my dogs this but not anymore got to bags left will move on to a better product for them sad news for a great brand 😢

No more Acana or orijen for my dogs since they both owned by mars 😞

Mars owns 43% of the pet food market. Mars also owns several veterinary clinic and hospital chains. Those veterinarians are told to push Royal Canin. Are the percentages of ingredients required to be listed in Europe? In the US, we get no percentages of the ingredients. It looks like anything that is less than 1% does not need to be given a percent? Thank you for another informative video.

My dog ate this for 8 yrs then the change!!….Made my dog have the absolute worst itchy skin!! She lost so much hair around shoulders from scratching took me 2 weeks to figure out that it was the food switched to a very high end food with lamb and pumpkin and she is on the mend!!

My local vet told me Acana dog food wasn't good for puppies and could promote bladder infections (which she has) but also that Acana has a reputation for causing heart trouble in dogs. My last dog (also on Acana)was a Doodle who died of a heart attack at age 4. This is by no means conclusive but now 3 vets have told me the same thing. The last vet was a surgeon from a different practice. I hope there's an investigation into their products.

Thank you for the information, but what an utterly sad "development" this is... Have fed my dogs Acana in many years and they really thrived on it. My epileptic stopped having seizures, all three had beautiful fur and they were never, ever sick. Since 3 winters i've even kept a pair of wild foxes thriving on Acana... First year it was only the male coming for dinner, second year he sent his lady when she was pregnant. When she first came, she looked miserable, skinny and with bad fur and tail. Just 5 days later i saw her eating while i was inside, looking at her through the window. She raised her head, looked straight back at me, moved some inches away from the bowl and sat down, tail around her feet. She was looking much better now and she was really posing for me, as if to show me how much good the food had done her and thank me for it.

I feel really, really sad to hear that all this Acana-based abundance will now come to an end. I've got some of the old bags left and wil start hunting for a good new brand, but i feel it will be very hard to find any other food that is as good as Acana used to be... 😪

I’ve fed Orijen or Acana first years, this most recent bag is the first I’ve noted the new ingredients. Both dogs have loose stool and are super itchy. Time to switch.

I am from the Northwest Territory of Canada. We feed our sled dogs Beluga, fish, and wild berries. The commercial dog food such as Acana is like eating at A fast food restaurant. Acana is just fill scraped off a floor of bone meal.

I fed Acana & Orijen then went to Natures Logic, but now I feed Steve’s Real Food & Vital Essentials Mini Nibs

We were using Acana and Orijen. Not any more. Now using CARNA 4 and cooking our own to add. Our pets are our children. The pet food industry lie and could care less about (killing) our pets.

LEGACY PRAIRIE VISTA RED MEAT BLEND is what we replaced the Acana Classics Red Meat with. No more constant gas and horrible diarrhea.
The Horizon Pet Food company has many lines and options within them. Maybe this will be helpful for others whose dogs suffered with the formula change. We've fed Acana and Orijen for over 15 years but we're just not confident in the direction the company has taken.
