This is the only recording of this symphony I’ve heard where the french horn players don’t mess up in the minuet section

I remember playing this as a flute duet with myself using a tape cassette recorder... a long long time ago. The Menuetto section.

Everyone: *reads the title 'Symphony in G minor'* expects to hear G minor a lot.
Mozart: 20:10 - 20:17 EVERY PITCH OF THE CHROMATIC SCALE EXCEPT THE TONIC OF THE PIECE, G, THEN BY 20:56 IS IN C-SHARP MINOR, THE TONAL OPPOSITE OF G MINOR, BEFORE ARRIVING AT A DECEPTIVE CADENCE 21:06, THEN COMING ALL THE WAY BACK TO G MINOR 🤯

This orchestra’s viola and bassoon player are the best . The sound is clear but rich and deep at the same time.

1st movement sounds serious in a minor key, 2nd movement sounds peaceful in a major key, 3rd movement sounds triumphant in a minor key and 4th movement sounds exciting in a minor key.

I’m not sure why, but the bassoon clarinet duo at 19:34 makes me so happy

You can hear so much of this symphony in Beethoven's work.
He probably had this one by the incomparable Mozart emblazoned in his brain.

Seine letzten drei Symphonien ( Nr. 40, 41, 42 ) schrieb Mozart in rund 40 Tagen, aber es ist unbekannt, ob er sie jemals außerhalb seiner eigenen Vorstellung hörte, bzw. ob sie zu seinen Lebzeiten aufgeführt wurden! Die Autographen sind ohne Korrekturen, absolut perfekt! Und die Musik unbeschreiblich schön!!

Beethoven is always good and lovely music to hear. Symphony No. 40 in G minor, KV. 550 was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1788. It is sometimes referred to as the "Great G minor symphony", to distinguish it from the "Little G minor symphony", No. 25. The two are the only extant minor key symphonies Mozart wrote.
