No vacuum. Just for hold down and fixturing. Thanks for watching.

using spiral bit will be no issue of chip.you can simply go all the way without getting back and they are not too expensive.i like this tap guide.thanx for showing us.

For lube I've used WD-40 for Aluminum, and regular ol' Tap Magic for steel. I was surprised at how much better cutting and tapping aluminum was with the WD-40. Significantly easier. Give it a try sometime, and see if you like it.

Would threaded inserts be a possibility in this application as well?

I'm always amazed at how clean you keep your working area. :)

Is this going to be a vacuum table as well? If so why tap all those screw holes when you could just use suction to secure your material?
