This is part of a previous message I left. Textual criticism analyzes ancient works of writing and compares them to each other. The gold standard for textual criticism is based around Homers Iliad or Odyssey, which is about 10 ancient manuscripts compared to each other. The Bible has thousands and thousands of ancient manuscripts. When comparing all those manuscripts and the Bible you can buy today in a store, the Bible is 95% accurate today as it was to the original documents. Which are also thousands of years old. The reason why it is not 100% is because that is simple impossible. That is where you get different translations of the Bible into different languages, and also languages not having 1 to 1 exact same words. What I didn’t add, was that textual criticism is also what essentially allowed to be in the Bible that you can go into any store and buy, the Bible that has 66 books. From what I researched, this is outside of that Bible and is declared not Biblical on the grounds of textual criticism not finding this document to be historically accurate. Or, at least not accurate to a majority of other ancient manuscripts found. This one just isn’t correct and is not an accepted text by Christians, for a logical and scientific reason, textual criticism.
