When they finally confront Nureyev with a shocking demand, he is forced to make a heart-breaking decision, one that may change the course of his life forever and put his family and friends in terrible danger.

I was 13 when he defected. It was a sensation, then when he came to the UK, the whole country went mad ! I was lucky enough to see him dance 3 times at Covent Garden in the '60's you just couldn't take your eyes off him when he was on stage, he was just amazing !

Just came back after watching this movie....as a Russian, it’s quite touching to see our history handled with such sensitivity, understanding and attention to detail! Bravo! Thank you to everyone that has worked on this movie and brought this story to life. It would be tempting to portray Nureyv’s choice as a ‘leap to freedom’ but it was presented in a way that captured the difficulty of making the decision.

I have no words to describe my love to Rudolf. He was really stunning, astonishing and alluring dancer. I do look up to him coz I've never met the man with such strength of character! HE JUST WANTS TO BE FREE TO DANCE. Can't wait to see this movie ❤

I don’t know if there is similar expression in English, but in Russian “white crow” (белая ворона) means someone who cannot fit in because of how unorthodox and different they are.
The guy tried to escape Soviet Russia because he felt suffocated and unable to express himself (artistically and as a gay man). Many soviet ballet dancers, choreographers and actors were forced to become spies for KGB or just whistleblowers in case someone in their field starts expressing some “traitorous” views. Famous dancer Maya Plisetskaya told in her biography that KGB made her visit them every damn month for interrogation, because she travelled a lot and had many offers to leave USSR for European ballet.

That film was very interesting and entertaining to see. Breathtaking the portrait of Nureyev's stage career as his private life a demanding growing-up, this unbound will to succeed in everything nearly touchable. The actors delivered a stunning performance.

After reading previous comments about the title; a white crow is very rare (or at least very uncommon) in the animal world or in a murder of crows. So if a crow is born white (like COMPLETELY freaking white) other ordinary black crows attack them since they technically don't belong with them (plus they stick out like sore thumb). And so there you go, this is what I learned in a documentary I watched before😂😂
