How to Use SUMPRODUCT To Total an Excel List Using Multiple Criteria

If you use Excel 2007 or 2010, you can use the new SUMIFS Function to total a list using multiple criteria. However, if you are using - or work with clients who are using - Excel 2003 you need a way to share this feature.

In this short video, I show you how to use the SUMPRODUCT Function to accomplish this goal. There are a few "got'cha" steps in this process, and I try to walk you through them so that you get it right the first time.

Thanks for a nice video. Kindly please clarify why you replace comma with asterisk in SUMPRODUCT. I have used comas in SUMPRODUCT and it works just fine. If there is a specific reason for you doing the replacement please let me know. thanks

Thank you, Sir for your vidoes. I learned a lot. I have a problem in this video. When i multiplying Quantity with unit price & pressed Ctrl + Shift + Enter. I got answer but there is an error “Formula omits adjacent cells. I disabled the “Background error checking check box” in formula options in Toolbar but nothing happend. Even, I can edit individual cells also. (In extend price option). DannySir, I would be grateful if you help me. Thank You

Also why is it that sometimes you have to use quotes in the function I.e "<"&E4 or some times its like A1:A4<E4????
